Big Brick Bash Community Event

Town Team: 1922 & You and Corrigin Collective
Location: Corrigin

An historic landmark within town, was transformed from a sandy ditch, to a luscious grassed area, featuring a stage, water garden and mud kitchen and yarning circle to provide a space for locals and visitors to connect beyond typical sporting clubs. Community was invited to the ‘Big Brick Bash’ where permanent mural templated designs onto bricks to feature at the new public space.

Town Team: Geraldton Town Team
Location: Geraldton

A vacant block on Marine Terrace, Geraldton has been revived at the west of town, with lighting, planter boxes, street furniture and an artist designed sea container to hold equipment storage for local community events.

Town Team: Activate South Hedland
Location: South Hedland

Activate South Hedland activated their community through a nine-month plan of events, including yoga in the park, community painting activities, to celebrate social connections.

Cooby Heart

Town Team: Coolbellup Town Team
Location: Coolbellup

To improve the heart of Coolbellup, the team launched a series of community noticeboards educating others about ‘what’s on’, a placemaking project within the local shopping centre, and a sundowner community event supporting local businesses, community members and residents along the way.

Town Team: Kondinin Kreative
Location: Kondinin

An underutilised space within Kondinin town centre was revitalised with a 3D artistic mural, paying homage to the local businesses aiming to bring the rich history of the community back to life.

Pickle District Park

Town Team: The Pickle District
Location: West Perth

Pickle District Town Team revitalised a tiny remnant of 100-year old Hamilton Park, Old Aberdeen Place in West Perth. The outdoor space was lost to the freeway in the 70s, which the team brought it back to life, creating a place for community events, public art showcase, local markets, outdoor workshops and festivals.

Rainbow Gullies

Town Team: Karratha Town Team
Location: Karratha

To promote more connected neighbourhoods and enhance safety and amenity of the infrastructure, the Town Team delivered the ‘Rainbow Gullies’ a colourful bridge painting, connecting their community and increasing vibrancy of the once blank space.
